Mozilla and the OTA Demand Major Retailers Sell Only Secure IoT Devices

Added to IoTplaybook or last updated on: 02/20/2019

IoTPlaybook Insight: The Mozilla Foundation teamed up with the Online Trust Alliance (OTA) and nine other groups to demand called on major retailers like Amazon, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy to only sell IoT devices that meet minimum security and privacy guidelines. Honestly, the minimum standards are pretty darn minimum, and are a subset of the IoT Trust Framework we discussed with OTA Director Jeff Wilbur back in June 2018. Let's hope the retailers exercise some security responsibility.
